I am sick of courier new - anyone got a good proportional font?

And since when exactly is courier a proportional font, if that is what you are implying?

sorry - meant non-proportional - where each character has the same amount of space.Eg an "i" has the same space as a "g"

It's called a fixed-width font, or monospaced font.
