Do all your G5 fans spin up on high when syncing with your iPod? Mine do even when there is no new files and just a normal sync...

Same thing with iTunes visualizer...

Does yours?!?!

Open the Activity Monitor and watch the CPU activity as you do various things. You'll hear the fans rev up as CPU activity increases.

My fans also rev up a bit while iSync runs (syncs with .mac and a PocketPC). As soon as its done, it revs back down.

i just noticed my fans kicking up while i was in a indesign. i went to activity monitor and indesign was using 99% of the cpu.

i quit indesign and restart and now its fine.

i think (and i am guessing here) that there may be a way for apps to "crash" in the form of they still work but start eating cpu/.

i don't know why
