I don't see it at konfabulator.com.. Plus I doubt it'll be there since it clearly uses Arlo's images from the Weather widget, and you can't redistribute something elses graphics...
If someone can get me a copy I'll mirror it for all

That's Konfabulator, Sandman. What I want to know is how did he remove the Konfab menu from the Menubar?

If you know how to use the terminal then just kill the main konfabulator proccess. you wont be able to open anymore widgets unless you restart the program. oh well...it gets rid of the stupid icon though......

I suppose that's an Audion skin at the top. I would have thought Konfabulator. Pretty neat looking. Simplistic and out of the way.
I wouldn't mind a greyscale desktop but I wouldn't want to go to all the trouble of hacking every last bit of color out of the OS.
But it's cool.

Yeah it's an Audion skin called "Black Bar" (Torn and MenuXtension are also great "outta-the-way" skins), the dock was configured with SkinADock and the Graphite dock skin. And you don't have to trouble yourself...simply go to "Sys Prefs" > Universal Access > Set Display to Greyscale (although I didn't do this, I want some colour).

Great, thanks. Now, I can't seem to figure it out. I drag the .psd or .jpg. or .png file to the well and something happens, but I can't figure out where the icon file is saved.
Help!

The icon is the file itself, no generic preview icon anymore, just command-I and cut and paste the new icon...

It replaces the .png or whatever with the new icon in the same place with the same name too.

It doesn' t really replace the .png, it's still a PNG file, it only gives it a decent icon, this way you can preview all your photoshop files and other images in icon view in the finder....

Take the file, drag and drop it on Pic2Icon, create a new folder, place a copy of the file you just dragged and dropped in the folder, drag and drop the copy of the file into PIc2Icon...and then you'll see it has a nice new icon. This is how it has to be done in OS 10.2 which is more fussy about icons. That, or reboot.

Huh, never really realized that, but I guess it still acts just like a icon, being able to copy it and paste it onto a folder or whatever.

Ok, now i'm really confused. I need to convert a .png to a .icns. I thought that's what the software would do (and why you recommended it).
Basically, I want to switch out the current Mail icon with the one posted earlier in this thread. I want to do it by replacing 'app.icns' in Mail's /Contents/Resources/

Use Pic2Icon, once it created a nice icon out of the .png...open it in Iconographer and save it as a .icns

Drag it off screen, duh.
Or pay $25.
Or kill the process. Pick one.

Perhaps in Pic2Icon "Settings" tabs, you have "Draw a 1 pixel border...." selected. And just pasting the icon onto Mail won't work. You have to place it inside Mail.app's Resources folder as app.icns.

You can find the original image (as well as many others) here.
I just modified it a bit, eliminating the origial bg and adding it a solid gray one.
