I have been trying to get mail from my .Mac account and Mail is acting weird. Because it checks my .Mac account mail first, it won't get the mail from my Cox account. Now it won't even show any of the stored messages in my mail folders. I need to check some tracking numbers and I can't even access those because mail won't show them. I have to force quit Mail.

I tried to connect to Apple.com to get to .Mac that way and can't connect to Apple's site. I can't even connect to the default Apple start page in Safari.

Try taking Mail offline. You may be able to read your messages if they are cached.
