So, I've got a pretty beefy GOG collection, and I really, REALLY want to get X-Wing and TIE Fighter. I've got an assortment of windows hardware in the form of laptops and whatnot, but I really have to do a purge around here.

So... I remain intrigued by low-cost full Windows 8.1 tablets for retro gaming with GOG titles an other shenanigans. I'm good on specs and whatnot, but does anybody have any experience directly with doing this kind of thing on this class of device?

I'm more amazed that Microcenter actually still exists!

But for those old games, you can simply use virtualization software like Parallels to get the job done. You shouldn't need a separate computer/tablet to do this (and that will save you money).

Not considering I need to buy a Windows license...

Microcenter's boxed processor prices are routinely lower than Newegg, which in part is probably why they're still about.
