Just looking at some posts makes me wonder when everyone switched to OS X. For me it was as soon as it came out. How a bout you?

I started messing around with Mac OS X during the DPs. I bought the beta and 10.0 but did not give up Mac OS 9 until 10.1.

I got my mac with 10.1.2. It's ran everything up to 10.3.1.
I'd have switched at 8.0 but I couldn't afford to at the time. (or probably sooner.)

Pretty much the same as soul searching... One of my colleagues had the DP's and I got the beta version and put it on my work machine, then 10.0, but didn't really use it that much.
When 10.1 was released thats when I 'switched', although still spent a fair bit of time in 9 becuase one of our cruddy legacy apps wasn't happy in X's Classic environment.
Since 10.2 came out I have only been into 9 about three times.

I started using OS X when 10.0 came out, but wasn't able to fully switch until that summer when I got out of school and was no longer dependent on OS 9-only applications.

I tried to use 10.0 full time but it just wasn't up to it. Had to wait for 10.1 for that.

At home I went full-time from 10.1, though I'd been tinkering with it since the DPs; the work machines had to wait 'til 10.2 before I switched 'em over.

I used it since the public Beta, but I killed OS9 when Photoshop 7 came out.

10.2, because 10.0 and 10.1 were so goddamn shit.
Even now I reboot to OS9 for heavy Poser/Bryce and Photoshop work, and for games.

I frequently bashed OS X during the developer preview stage, but I was the first person I know to try the public beta. I didn't go X full time until I got my PowerBook G4 with OS X 10.1.

I slowly began to switch when I bought my iBook about 2.5 years ago. It had the 10.0 version on it, which was quite slow and not very stable, but visually stunning . 10.1 showed a lot more promise and I began to change my normal activities over to X from there.
There's only one of my favorite games that is still stuck on OS 9 (Apeiron; which Ambrosia software hasn't shown any indication of porting to X ).

I messed around with the public beta, got my $30 back from the Apple deal and sold the beta on eBay for $20 so I got 10.0 for $80
I have never completely switched. I never had OS 9 installed on my Dual 867MHz but when I sold it and got my 400MHz PowerBook, I started to boot back to OS 9 to play Deus Ex, UT, and Marathon.

There should have been an other. I'm currently using 9.2.2. My 17" Studio Display crashed on Wednesday evening, some crackle, a metal smell, and a black screen.
With a visit to the Apple Store the tube is gone, decided the $699.00 repair was too great. They had a 20" Cinema Display. My plan was to do backups this weekend. Much to my shock my present G4 won't run the Display. Plan to have Panther installed tomorrow at the Store. Then if the G4 crashes they will be responsible.

You cant get a carbon version to play Deus Ex in OS X.
OS 9.2.2 would still fall into the OS 9 category

I had 10.0 but I never really used it.
With 10.1 I used it about half the time but still used 9.
With 10.2 and 10.3 I use OS X about 98% of the time.

My lord. The ones that have used it since 10.0 must not have any work to do or deadlines.

10.2
I had installed 10.0 on my G4 400 mzh tower but really strongly disliked it so went back to only booting in 9.0.
Once 10.2 came out...went with it..and love it. On 10.3 now.
