Hey everyone,

I'm new to the scene here so bare with me, please! I just installed a new Seagate hard drive in my Macbook! For some reason when I do a start up with the OS disk given to me with the Macbook, it won't detect the drive to install the OS on the new hdd!? I can plug in my external hard drive and it sees the drive fine! But for some reason not the new internal HDD! There is nothing shown in disk utility either? How do I get this new drive working to install the OS!? I highly appreciate anyones help and or advice!

If Disk Utility doesn't see it, chances are good it's not installed properly. One of the cables could be loose. Or else the drive is bad, but that's much less likely.
