Amazing work, and JC wrote a rather informative note about how this project came to be.

And yes, Doom is coming.

No mention of Quake, though.

The fact that the source code is available is great for budding game developers.

EDIT: posted here instead of the gaming forum since I didn't think many iPhone users would go to the gaming forum, and the addition of the source code makes it more iPhone news than gaming news.

I played with it for a little while last night found it entertaining. The controls are a little awkward but overall its a nice diversion.

definitely the game is strictly for nostalgia, but that shouldn't lesson the enjoyment.

I can't wait for DOOM!

It seams like JC really has his heart in this.

Bungie should release Marathon for the iPhone.

I was skeptical but it works very very well.

Here's a quick review and some screenies.

Not as well as I had hoped. Its do-able but clearly controlling a FPS is not as easy on an iphone as it is on a computer or a game console

This is a damn fun game. This was my fav game back in my DOS gaming days - woohoo! The iPhone version is pretty slick, all things considered. It's very snappy and the controls are the best of any iPhone shooter I've tried yet.

Sweet! I already have Doom and Quake though. The interface sucks pretty bad though.
