What is your favorite game ever to be made for the Mac platform?
Mine has to be Halo with Postal2 running a close 2nd.
Would like to hear what other user opinions may be. Thanks.

Fallout
Runners up:
Baldur's Gate
AfterLife
I feel I should say something about each of them, but they're all so good I'd feel compelled to write all night... or at least longer than the 17 minutes left on my battery.

Three games come to mind. Unreal, JourneyMan Project II, and Deja Vu. Ok, none of them are very recent, but each of them completely absorbed me for truly ridiculous amounts of time. And for me, each defined my expectations for other FPS and adventure games.
Doom 3 is very pretty, but the game play gets a little repetitive after a while - sneak up to trigger point, shoot badguys while retreating, repeat. And Myst IV, also very pretty, came really close to be as absorbing as JMP II and Deja Vu, but fell short. Somehow. I can't really quantify it.

For recent games, there's WoW. What else is there?
Actually, I like Vampire: Bloodlines too.

Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast - Still my favorite and much better than Jedi Academy...
Halo I liked very much....
Escape Velocity Nova stole many hours....
I'm trying to like Knights of the Auld Republic, I really am, but it's my first RPG and I get bored with the gameplay....
Does this mean I won't like WOW? The trailers look awesome and the reviewers are all gobsmacked with it!

I can't believe no one has mentioned these:
Warcraft II
Starcraft
I played so much Starcraft that I had Protoss, Zerg, and Terran dreams. Lifesuckers those were.

4) VETTE!
5) Robosport
6) Hellcats over the Pacific/Hellcats Leyte Gulf

Hands down, agreed. These are the two best games of all time released on the mac platform... Shoot, for PC too. I think I've lost close to years from these games. I hope they have these in heaven cause if they don't, I know they gonna have 'em in hell...

And if halflife/halflife2 were available for Mac those would be on the list. I'm hoping KOTOR 2 will at least come out for PC so I don't have to buy an Xbox to play it.

There's always the obvious answer of World of Warcraft, but another one of my all-time favorites is Star Control 2. The original 3DO source has been released a few years ago and now you can play it in all its glory on OS X.
Attention big, mean, hostile alien vessel hovering overhead in an obvious attack posture: This is Spathi Captain Fwiffo.
I know you are going to torture me, so let's just get this over with right now. The coordinates of my homeworld, Spathiwa, are 241.6 : 368.7 and the ultra-secret Spathi Cypher, which is known only by me and several billion other Spathi is `Huffi-Muffi-Guffi'.
Ahh.. so awesome.

World of Warcraft... some one said it before, and I'll say it again, no end in site
Other favorites:
Medal of Honor: AA
BF 1942
UT 2004
Admitedly I own all these games for PC, not Mac... they were all out before I bought my powerbook....
Have to add... Halflife and Counterstrike for those of use who still own a PC
Never tried Halo on Mac or PC. Watched my brother play it on his PC and couldn't get used to playing it not on the Xbox... but a great game none the less!

I always liked to take the Calloway Twin Turbo, put it in auto-shift, shut off the damage, and just ram into things all day long.
The little detail that game had, which games to this day (GTA, I'm talkin' to you) seem to ignore...
Excellent horn sound.
Smashing into things is just so much more satisfying when you lay on the horn.

By Mac platform, I suppose you're including the Classic Mac OS as well. In that case, I must say that MacPlay's Star Trek: 25th Anniversary and Star Trek: Judgment Rites are my favorites, there was also Star trek: A Final unity by Spectrum HoloByte, which I enjoyed very much as well, and SimTower.
I also liked many of the later Ambrosia games, done in the style of old arcade games, and their quirky games like Harry the Handsome Executive, and of course, Escape Velocity.
I have hardly played any games on Mac OS X. I am thinking of trying out Tron 2.0, specially as there seems to be a fix out for Tiger, according to the CincyGamer.

1. WoW - It too has destroyed my average. I knew I should not have picked it up. But at least I passed all my courses
2. StarCraft - I haven't stopped playing it since the day I got it.
There are lots of others, but these are the top 2.

First of all, I'm old skool. Let's get that out of the way first.
As far as the best games for the Mac platform, the Marathon series has to be at the top of the list. The graphics, plot, and gameplay were so much better than what was out at the time, even on the PC. It makes me wonder what the Mac would have been like as a gaming platform had Apple courted more game developers and emphasized better graphics hardware (or, even, bought Bungie before MS could screw them up!)
I still play Starcraft from time to time. As far as gameplay is concerned, it might be #1 in my book, even beyond WC III. Blizzard's Mac support was always top-notch, too. I think they may be the last major software vendor that ships hybrid CD's as a matter of course. (WC III and its expansion were hybrid, IIRC. Never bought WoW.)
Civ III, which is my current addiction (as well as the entire Civ series), doesn't count as a mere game, it's more of a "lifestyle choice".

My favorite of all time would have to be Deus Ex followed closely by the original Unreal. On the arcade side of things - Battle Girl
I enjoyed Halo, but these days I'm reduced to occasional dabbling in UT2K4. I just haven't found anything majorly engrossing to me in the game world in quite a while.

HOLY CRAP! I used to have that game! In fact, I think I still do!!! I remember we spent HOURS on it, and in the end we took to long to accomplish something so that the bad guys had like 5 billion ships and surrounded us. It sucked. Worst ending ever.
