Was looking over at www.pbfixit.com and saw that they sell the bluetooth module for a PB 12" G4. Does anybody know if this is the same part for a 12" iBook, or if it can be modified to fit? Thanks!

PowerBook G4 (12-inch 1.33 GHz)

922-5764 Board, Bluetooth (EEE code: P2G)
922-6494 Cable, Bluetooth
922-6571 Board, Bluetooth (EEE code: Q6T)

iBook g4

922-5764 Board, Bluetooth (EEE code: P2G)
922-6126 Cable, Bluetooth
922-6563 Cable, Bluetooth Antenna

No no sorry, the board are the same, but the antenna and the cable are different parts and would not suit an ibook.
Want to buy the official one through me ?

What do the parts run, price wise?

From pictures online in scattered places I have seen, it looked like there was just a chip and cable. Is the antenna preinstalled in an iBook or will it need to be run seperate? Thanks.

Cool! Knowledgable posting! Thanks!!!

Do you perhaps know if the LCD in the 12" iBook is the same as that in the 12" AlPB? There've been questions about that for ever and ever, with regard to viewing angle etc.

I thought about this one too, as i was thinking about swapping mine for a PB screen.

of course theyre different part numbers, but whether they're swappable is debateable. O cant find good enough pics and would have to see them up close. The inverter cable from the powerbook is slightly longer than the ibooks, so that may mean the powerbook's could go into the ibooks and the ibooks not into the powerbook.

In regard to the bluetooth module, it consists of 3 parts - the board, the cable and the antenna. We're looking at around $80 US + Installation costs. I bought it for my ibook because you cant get build-to order systems here in NZ.
