I currently have a AL PB 12.1, can anyone compare the two as far as heat is concerned? I am looking to get myself the new 17" and am curious how the heat compares. 12.1" is too hot for me.
Thanks for your help.
Also, I know this is a PowerBook forum, but any recomendations on whether someone would go for the new PowerMac G5 1.8 if portability wasn't an option?
Thanks again.

A 17 is never gonna be as hot as the 12 "Firebook"!
Even if the processor gets up to the same temperatures as the 12 there`s a lot more space for the heat to be dissipated.

My new revB Albook 12" is hot too... but not too bad... Maybe it will be nice in the winter! Keep my hands and lap warm

The rev B's are supposed to be considerably cooler.

I had a 17-inch PB rev. B that turned into a torch. I returned it because it got so hot it was too uncomfortable to use.

My revA PB17 is the coolest (both figuratively and literally!) notebook computer I've ever owned.
There are a few comments that the revB machines are warmer.

My 133 17" is hot at times and uncomfortable on my lap at times. The fan comes on too occassionally and it is louder than I would have expected. but, neither the heat or the fan are what I would describe as a problem. This is cooler than my 667 tibook by a lot.
