Bluetooth Mouse & Wi-Fi interfering

My MS Bluetooth mouse slows down dramatically when I do anything intense with wi-fi such as copy files. The cursor becomes sluggish and erratic.
Does anyone have any tips on how to fix the problem?

I have a similar problem. I have a MS wireless mouse (but not bluetooth) and it goes a bit haywire when I use WiFi for intensive tasks. I'm really not sure what we can go do fix this.

It's not practical for me to stop using the mouse just because I'm transfering a file over wi-fi or similar.
With all the bluetooth mice in use by people here - including non-Microsoft mice, of course - I'd have thought this would be a more commonly resolved issue. I was surprised when I searched the forum and didn't find any previous mention of it.

i use a kensington pocketmouse bt, and am on a wireless network (airport express to a dlink) and have noticed no such problems.
try changing the channel on your wireless network.
or repositioning the router...

If you have another mouse available, try seeing if the you get the same results in the same situation with a different mouse (whether its wireless or not). It may have nothing to do with wireless interference (or else it would likely affect your wireless connection as well).

Try turning on 'Use Interference Robustness' on your AP and Powerbook. Also have a look at what channel is being used for the Wi-Fi, set to automatic or try different channels.
Bluetooth and Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) both operate in the 2.4GHz spectrum so it very well could be interference. Cordless phones and microwaves can also be a problem.

We have 2 Apple BT mice going, both on 11g laptops. Never had a problem.
(w00t! 500 posts! Look out cipher13, I'm comin' for ya!)

I had similar issues with my MS Bluetooth mouse, about 10 days before I stopped using it. Shortly after that, it stopped staying connected to the Powerbook, and also my Wintendo destop I used to test it.
I'm waiting on some spare $ to get an MX900 this time. Just attributed it's inability to deal with wifi as a problem with the mouse before death.
