This works for me (using IE 5.x):

Enlarge the text in your browser window (if your browser allows it) bigger and bigger No, even bigger! Now see how the text is big and bold, and the junk falls off the right side of the window! Sit back and enjoy the news.

Any other ideas?

Oops

I just went back and tried the enlargement trick again. It didn't work. In fact the junk on the right squeezed out the useful text on the left. Could they have responded so quickly to the previous message?

Well, there is another solution. You cut out some paper from some other news media - A 3 inch wide strip should do - then paste it on your monitor to cover the junk on the right side of the MacNN window. Now you can read the news without so much confusion. It's almost as good as plain text!

Do support their sponsors though. It's only fair.
