I bought a second battery I'd like to start to use. I already calibrated the battery that came with my PB12. If I perform a calibration on the 2nd battery too, will the first battery not be calibrated any more? I want to swap both and I want to make sure the computer gets the battery time right. I heard calibration is important for that and the life of the battery.

I would like to read replies to the above question.
I would like to get a second battery once I get my 17" since I heard battery life on the 17" is not that great.

I've had dual batteries to use with both my TiBook and 17" AlBook. You can calibrate more than one battery because there is circuitry contained in the battery itself, not in the PowerBook. You won't mess anything up by using more than one battery with your machine.

Exactly. Calibrating a battery has NOTHING to do w/ the other battery. The calibration process affects the BATTERY and has nothing to do with your PowerBook, thus you can calibrate as many batteries as you own.

Cool. Is it also true if i'm not using a second battery for a while it should be left at 40% charge?
