I don't have a .Mac account, and whenever I publish my website to a folder, iWeb assigns some weird folder name for the site, and thus making for a very weird url

for example, the ending of the url for my site now looks like

3C83450F-7078-4080-9F90-438899CCC5A7/Welcome.html

Why does it make such a weird folder name? Is there anyway I can get the folder to have a normal looking name other than manually editing the HTML? I couldnt find any options for the folder name.

thanks.

Odd. this http://www.tonysmac.pwp.blueyonder.c.../Parkside.html site was created in iWeb (out of iPhoto) all I had to do to (as I don't have a .mac sub) was enter a 'site name' when I chose publish and it called a folder that in the 'Sites' folder under my user?

I resolved it. Originally in iWeb, I published to folder "zach" within my sites folder. In folder "zach", it had an index.html and folder "3C83450F-7078-4080-9F90-438899CCC5A7" with everything else in it (and another copy of index.html)

I ended up just uploading the contents of 3C83450F-7078-4080-9F90-438899CCC5A7 (but not the folder itself). Seemed to work, but I'm still puzzled why iWeb made such a folder name.

I think there is an option NOT to publish to .mac smoewhere, all that coded name sure looks like some sort of structure for publishing to .mac.

I selected from "File", "Publish to a Folder..." and then made a new folder under my sites folder (which I later used Fugu to upload to my server)
