Rap star KANYE WEST is calling for a revised edition of THE BIBLE, because he thinks he should be a character in it.

The JESUS WALKS hitmaker, who picked up three Grammy Awards last night, feels sure he'd be "a griot" (West African storyteller) in a modern Bible.

He says, "I bring up historical subjects in a way that makes kids want to learn about them. I'm an inspirational speaker.

"I changed the sound of music more than one time... For all those reasons, I'd be a part of the Bible. I'm definitely in the history books already.

Give me a break f00.

In 10 years, no one will know who you are.

A lot of people claimed the same thing would happen to a particular band when one of its members said, "... We're more popular than Jesus now...".
That band is probably the most popular if not the most well known Rock N' Roll band in history.

Quick quiz... Name the band and the artist who said that.

Yes, but Steve Jobs is, and being the Mac fan you are you should know everything even remotely related to Jobs.

Kanye West actually hinted at this brouhaha at an Apple Event:

"I'd like to thank Steve Jobs for still letting me perform."

One thing to say for Kanye West: He's no hypocrite. He says he's against education, and he betrays no sign of ever having received one.

I believe he dropped out of college and then said it's the best decision he ever made.

But I'm sure dropping out was the best decision Bill Gates ever made, too.

Why does everyone expect artists to be more intelligent than a median idiot off the street? It's not like they get paid for sharing their immense knowledge with the world or providing cutting insight into current events. If they look pretty and sing the right tune, they've pretty much met the minimum criteria for runaway success.

Na'aint saying she a Gold Digga, but she ain' messin' wit no BROKE! BROKE! BROKE!

Actually, you could say the same about politicians as well. Very rearly do the brightest, best educated and intelligent hold center stage in public affairs and politics.

Artists, Musicians, Actors etc. are usually just as well read, educated and informed as your average political figure, and if anything, they are at least better looking.

I'd take Brad Pitt's opinions and public presence of G.W.'s anytime, eventhough they probably have the same (low) IQ.

If I change my way of living, and if I pave my streets with good times, will the mountain keep on giving…

theres some moby quote that came across my google homepage the other day that sort of follows this train of thought. i still think moby sucks, but the quote is interesting:

I had an epiphany a few years ago where I was out at a celebrity party and it suddenly dawned on me that I had yet to meet a celebrity who is as smart and interesting as any of my friends.
Moby, quoted on CNN.com, March 2005

True, but I guess it's still surprising sometimes to some just how much of a moron the guy truly is.

Maybe we should have a Stupid Celebrities subforum. It seems to be a very popular topic these days.

You obviously haven't listened to his albums. I'd suggest giving them both a couple run-throughs before you say that. They're actually really, really good.

Remember, Led Zep had a crapload of rehashed ideas too...and Kanye at least hasn't put his own name on another person's song. Everybody builds on someone else.
