i have a chance to pick up virtual pc 6.1 for next to nothing and am wondering if i should for my g3 imac running 9.2 and 10.2. this machine is not hooked up to the internet so it's impossible for me to download any malware. question: is there much malware floating around out there on cd's. my only other interaction with the outside world is that i occasionally hook this machine up to an ipod photo. i am totally unfamiliar with windows.

You do not want to run windows in Virtual PC on a G3, full stop.
Malware or not.
Expanded version:
You do not want to do this unless you absolutely, positively HAVE TO, or you have time and the insurmountable urge to just prove to yourself that it can be done.

Yeah, I used VirtualPC on my G4 and it was painful. If you absolutely must use PC software then buy a $300 PC, DO NOT USE THIS.

Thirded. Don't try to use VirtualPC on a PowerPC Mac. It's unusably slow.

It's slow because there is a huge performance hit in emulating an intel processor, and on top of that the machine has to handle the footprint of running Windows. Your G3 probably doesn't have enough RAM to do this, which means that your performance will be killed on both counts.

I have this theory that the US debt is simply the result of a Windows virus, what do you think of that theory?

It'll still run like crap. Even something as old as straight up DOS.
Emulating CPU architecture is slow as crap.
