I liked that when Candice died she was fat. In the first season they hinted towards the fact that she wasn't pretty, and that she was using her powers to make everyone see her as pretty.
The comics give her whole origin story. She was quite the fat and ugly angry teen. I'm glad to see they brought that up in the show. Though I still think its all an illusion. The company wouldn't leave an idiot with sylar. Its so damned obvious that he would kill her the moment he found out she had powers.

Eh, I find them interesting so far. I liked in the last episode that she intentionally killed the two cops — it's a nice bit of moral ambiguity on a show where good and evil and normally represented by Peter (pure as the driven snow) and Sylar (eeevil).

Then again, I thought Nikki seemed interesting at first too, and boy was I wrong.

I hope Nissan realizes that I will never buy a Rogue because I'm sick of seeing those freaking commercials during Heroes. It's over the top.

I think this episode proves two hypotheses I've had for a while now:

1. The more content is related to Nikki, the more it will suck.

2. The more an episode features Sylar, the more it will be awesome. (I loved that part where the guy tells him that Maya and Whatshisface are killers, and Sylar goes, "Golly, are you sure?")

I loved the whole episode except for the New Orleans bullshit with "Southerners" who say "you guys."

Man, I thought this one sucked pretty bad, too. Glad "you guys" liked it, though.

So apparently the writers ran out of superpower and they have to have repeats, like flying and being able to learn quickly?

He wants to kill Maya and her brother and decided to get rid of Derek ahead of time.

That's a strange assumption. (Also, mimicking was not Charlie's power. Flying and invulnerability are the only repeats we've seen so far.)

I suppose they are basically different, but they do appear to be very similar. Charlie was able to learn or pick up on new things quickly, usually by hearing or reading. Ms. Ghetto-fabulous can learn visually. Either method produces the same results though: acquiring new abilities without having to try.

Question: Why was Derek going to call the cops? Wasn't he just saying that the border police would be looking for "all of us"?

Oh, it was Sylar that killed Derek? I thought maybe it was leakage from Maya.
As far as we know, Sylar is still "disabled", though, right?

Maya never got out of the car, and there was a brick next to his body.

He probably thought they were in for some small reason, not murder.

There was a bloody brick on the ground next to him. No need for powers.

Anyone notice the cockroach crawling on the Derek-killing brick? The same cockroach crawling down the drain with Sylar's blood at the end of Season 1?

As far as I can tell, Charlie couldn't actually intuit how to do new things — she just never forgot anything. Ghetto Girl can apparently acquire skills just by seeing somebody use them. I don't think Charlie could have acquired that leaping kick by reading a book where somebody did it. Ghetto Girl's power is more similar to Peter's than Charlie's if you ask me.

She (Monica) has the most interesting power so far. I also thought it was a lot like Peter's, but just for normal skills. I'm also interested to see if Nathan Petrelli's sons have any powers. I know kung fu. Sylar is becoming too evil to be interesting.

I skipped the last episode and didn't miss it. If something starts to happen, I'll watch but not impressed with this season at all.

Damn it, why doesn't stupid NBC.com post the episodes immediately? What is this "next morning" garbage? Don't they realize that we live in an age of instant gratification?

This second season seems to pick up the pace after all. It's getting interesting at last. It also looks like Peter Petrelli is coming to my hometown of Montreal in next week episode. Hi did a "vision of the future" painting showing the corner of Blvd. St-Laurent and St-Jacques street. Surprisingly enough, it's an actual street corner in Old Montreal. I saw so many American movies that have scenes happening in Montreal where they have geographical nonsense. This one looked right for once.

What if Monica can only learn from TV? That'd be awesome!
She'd end up with a rather eclectic set of skills -- gourmet cooking, forensic pathology, and pole-dancing, for starters.

She learned the piano from sitting next to Micah. She also learned double dutch from watching the girls on the street.

Loved the episode... The Monica thing was kind of cheap, they definetly took the easy way out. I was excited to see her to a kickflip or a dunk, but she "double-dutched" which I'm sure she already knew how to do.

Other than that, liked everything else... I can't believe Suresh took Molly to the company. Bad move. I also can't believe Parkmans dad! I wonder if it is a seperate power he has, or if it really is an extension of Matt's power. It seemed more like (insert name of girl that Sylar just killed and could make illusions)'s power than anything else though.

Candice's power was creating illusions visible by anyone around. This seems simillar, but I believe it's all in the mind of the individual victim to the power.

Not to mention her double-dutching wasn't exactly mind-blowing. I mean, couldn't she at least have worked in one of her Bruce Lee flips into the routine?

And, uh, Micah is a little young for her, right? Despite that funny glow he gets on his face when he watches her?

Good point, that didn't click for me. You're right, Candice's power changed to one illusion for anyone she wanted. Parkman's dad seems as if it's in the mind (that's how he got to molly), and it also seems like it's that particular persons worst fear. I would say they're sleeping while they're in his nightmare (as it appears with molly) but that wouldn't work because parkman and nathan were physically fighting eachother while they were in their own respective nightmares, but in the same room. hmm...

I laughed about that too, good episode.

Also, JSL knew absolutely zip about martial arts before doing that film, pretty surprising considering how well he did.
