Looking for suggestions:

We are slowly migrating to OSX in our shop and I am a little confused on how to tackle this. I have tried setting up to log in using a current Active Directory with no success. Currently we set up an administrator account and a production account locally on the OSX macs and everyone logs in as production. This would work but would force us to use mail apps that each user could log in with their own password and not see all other users mail like you would with Apple's mail app.

We do have an XServe but I do not know too much about it. Would using the XServe be the way to start?

use imap as your mail server and configure mail.app to not store any messages locally...

users will simply need to enter their login/pass and it will read their messages on the server and not save them on the local macs.
