[BostonMACOSX]

I noticed that in 10.2 the hostconfig seems to set the hostname to the rendovous name in the sharing panel. Having a DYNDNS name is there any harm in manually setting the hostname to your DYNDNS name?

below is the .err file from my mysql server. It uses my rendevous name.

bostonmacosx.local..err
any Ideas?

   I don't know of any harm in it. In fact I depend on it. I changed my /etc/hostconfig from

HOSTNAME=-AUTOMATIC-

to

HOSTNAME=kerbaugh.dyndns.org

and the hostname command, shell prompt, etc,, always report the DYNDNS name.
