Does anyone have an idea on this?

i went to the Oxford semiconductor site and they had the solution for 922 for $15 a pop for orders over 10000.

i would think so. i mean, look at the prices of the 900 chipset products and the 911 chipset products. i got one of the first ADS pyro FW cases with the 900 in it for about $109. i think i can get that same exact case for like $49.

i think the 922 will become ubiquitous, especially if you will be able to use a fw 400 adapter with it, and have it transfer at the lower speed. if that's possible (and it should be), then maybe manufacturers will just start using the 922 for all devices (much like how it's easy to find 911 chipset devices now, and somewhat hard to find 900 devices out there).

with all this hype about firewire 800, there's just one question: where are the pci cards? i mean, i'm drooling over all these drives manufacturers are showing at macworld, but right now, the only computer you can use them on is the 17"powerbook, which isn't even out yet.
