Has anyone who's been suffering from the G5 kernel panic problem under 10.3 installed the 10.3.1 update yet? I really want to switch my G5 to Panther, but it's just completely unusable with all the panics. So does anyone know if this update fixes them, the description in Software Update doesn't mention it, but who knows?

NO KP's for my dual G5 under 10.2.7-8 for a month. No KP's under 10.3 or 10.3.1 since.

Here's the obligatory "bad RAM" comment.
If you are getting kernel panics, something is seriously wrong. My G5 has NEVER had a kernel panic (10.3.1 currently, installed 10.3 clean on it the day it arrived).
Boot off your restore CD and run the hardware check. You prrobably have some bad RAM.

Hardware Test says that nothing is wrong with any or my hardware. I ran the full battery of tests.
This isn't just KPs in certain programs, this is system-wide. It even takes several tries to install Panther because it kernel panics during the install process (presumably it's booted into Panther during the install process).
I'm going to attempt replacing the RAM, but that's going to have to wait until January because I'm going to be out of the country until then and I just don't have time to do it before I leave.

If it's not the RAM then you need to send it back to Apple. You have a hardware problem.

Yeah, that's what I figure. I just really don't want to have to do that.
