No one is forcing anyone to buy one at an elevated price. For some people, their time is more valuable then standing in a long line for hours and not be able to get one...therefore the price may be justified for them.

Not really. If he didn't open them, then he's only out the cost of listing the phones since he can just take them back to the store for a refund. I don't get all the ire towards people who do this. Sure, it's not a great way to make money, but it's not like it doesn't take time and effort to get the things in the first place.
Somehow it's ok for a company to charge you a marked up price on a product but for a reseller it's evil. I don't get it.

Are you serious?
When a company charges you the so called "marked up price" is because they are including all the expenses put towards releasing the product. (Design, software, hardware etc)
when somebody like this do it and marks it up more then the actual company is just wrong...I understand if he gest it wholesale and then marks the price at retail but marking it as double the amount of retail is just wrong....
I just cant fully understand why you would reply with such a stupid comment towards why we dislike people like that.

It looks like Apple did a great job preventing iPhone scalping. The created plenty of hype and demand for the release, then met the demand with an adequate supply chain. Unless future demand outpaces production, they'll be no reason for anyone to pay an extra premium for the iPhone. No offense to opportunists, but this allows the licensed resellers to make their fair share of the profits.

Auction ended for $650 for a $600 phone and then there's free overnight shipping.
After ebay fees and shipping and sales tax from original iPhone purchase- this guy LOST money!
(Oh, one ended for closer to $750, but I'd say it was hardly worth the effort!)
