You know that right?

You are trying to switching arguments mid-stream.
I didn't say development of the Internet "was good for the people". Can I borrow your catch-phrase and say "stop putting words in my mouth"?

I still think you are placing too much emphasis on capitalism as a causative factor for the growth of the Internet but I don't know enough about the history of its commercial development--who were the first non-ARPA users? who were the first ISP's? what was their business model? that sort of thing--and I don't have time today to do the research, so I will concede a draw in this argument.

Cheers!

How is that going to help? I thought the US have software patents already.

The internet grew because of demand, not supply. The users were willing to pay for it so the suppliers built it. This occurs in both capitalist and socialist societies. Its competitors were/are highly priced, so the internet could grow. Do not attempt to give "capitalism" credit for the sun coming up every morning or the automobile replacing the horse. A rough internet timeline is at http://www.wbglinks.net/pages/history/
Even today, long distance telephony is highly priced. This has nothing to do with fairness. Even the availability of porn without the interference of "do-gooders" helped fuel the growth of the internet. sam

Tell me ambush, how does one "sound tense" on a internet forum?

Actually what was funny was that private message you sent me telling me how I was owned or whatever in this thread.

No, that isn't what you said, nor did I say it was. That is what most people claim Socialism is about.

If it weren't for the money making potential, it would have never taken off.

I didn't know greed was a value that Christianity "valued".

How can Christianity and Capitalism go together anyway? They just can't. Religion exists so that greedy men can feel less guilty.

It's not about Greed. It's about achieving.

I don't work and get payed for it because of greed.

I do it to give something to the community, and survive.

I surely wouldn't be doing what I do, or living where I live if I was greedy.

Nice projection though.

Sorry it didn't work out the way you thought it would.
