I've used iPhoto diet but I guess it's not compatible with the latest version of iPhoto. So, does anyone know of an app that will remove dupes?

Yeah, I was hoping for some MacNN-tested apps rather than be the test rat myself.

If it makes you feel better, I ran it on my Library (hint: Time Machine) — it found nothing and did no harm.
However it turns out that the free version is limited to 500 photos so it's likely to be useless for you in the first place.
