When you use the terminal in Panther if you set the terminal to blink the first [ (Before the share name) moves back and forth. Overlook on Apple's part or something that they added to annoy people into not using blink?

Hmm. If it is any consolation, I am unable to reproduce your problem.

What is more important is that you can now set a picture as the background for a Term window.

And you can set custom keybindings. Very handy to be able to actually send a page-up now.

Is having the ability to set a picture in the background of a term window really that important? Just seems useless to me.

Yeah, I can't see much increased utility coming from that feature - but I would like to know if the terminal remembers where you had the window open and opens it there on start-up, rather than in the oddly chosen location it uses in 10.2.x!

It doesn't but it's positioned a little better.

- My opinions may have changed, but not the fact that I am right.

Two very nice features (especially page up).

Important? Probably not, but its something a lot of UNIX people like to do and making them feel at home in OS X can only be a good thing.
