I had a not-yet-saved homework assignment open in TextEdit when my iMac unrecoverably beachballed on me (during the ScreenSaver, no less, so I don't know what was going on when it happened). I tried remotely killing stuff via ssh with no luck and eventually had to restart.

Anybody know if TextEdit keeps temp files anywhere? If so, are they in convenient .rtf format? Or is it more probable that the whole (< 1 page) document was in RAM and I gotta start over?

Thanks
Y.

I don't think TextEdit uses temp files like that. I think you're boned.

Ouch, don't think so. Sorry.
