Seriously. We all have our internet personas, and hardly admit to weakness, but let's see how honest we can be at accessing ourselves. Write about your best points, and your worst.

I am sure this thread will get trolled, but I am willing to bear it for some real, honest answers.

I'll go first.

I'm definitely an asshole to people I don't like and I hate it and my wife hates it. That would be my biggest flaw. If there is something about you that I don't like, I will be an asshole. I don't like that I do it. I do try to change it. It is the Irish in me, I think.

I try too hard, and I am super competitive. Annoyingly so.

I earn well and am married to an amazing person, and I am still young (23 in a few months). My biggest fear in life is loosing her–every time she gets slightly ill I freak out.

I am really intelligent. I graduated high-school at 15. I learned to program faster than anybody I know, and have had jobs programming, doing web design, doing graphic design, and marketing. By the time that I am 30 I will either be a powerhouse in my field and industry, or burnt out. I hope it's the former, although all signs point to the latter.

There is no "online persona." Everyone online is exactly like they are in real life, just with one or two filters removed. This means that yes, I'm as snarky and condescending in real life as I appear here, but I just don't let it show as much.

IRL, I'm generally quiet and shy, but open up after I'm with a group of people I'm comfortable with.

That's funny, I just cmd-F'd this page and did not get any hits for "narcissistic."

IRL?

IRL, I like to laugh and make jokes, I trust people (too much?), I'm outgoing and make friends easily, I'm a worrier/over analyzer, I'm a little on the odd ball side, but typically don't give a sh*t what other people think of me.

Then you have not meet a lot of people from the Internet in real life because people online personalities are very different. I've only meet two people from MacNN, Strider and Feuding but over the years I have meet probably 60 people from the net in a non-hookup fashion and they where never like there online personalities. The ones I thought where dicks and I wouldn't like ended up becoming good friends and some of the ones that I thought would be easy to get alone with ended up being something totally different. I would bet my bottom dollar Big Mac and I as one example could get along fine over a coffee despite our emotionally charged battles on here.

I'm busy. I am a health care professional, married to a nurse, we have puppies that need a lot of attention and training, and we're starting to prepare to plan to get ready to paint the inside of the house. Other than that, I like to hike (finally getting to be safe to do that without a real heatstroke danger), I like to tinker with small projects at home, and I like to (when I get the time) surf the Web. And read-I love to read. My wife and I do a lot of reading, when we're not running like crazy doing all those other things.

Nope. Note that I did not say there were no differences. Just that your entire "persona" doesn't change (unless you are trying to deliberately deceive). The differences are about tone. Frankly, I don't put much stock into what I (or you, I guess) perceive someone's online personality to be, because a lot of people just flat out suck at communicating, regardless of their personality.

People also compartmentalize aspects of their personality. Just because someone is not a jerk to you when you meet them offline, doesn't mean that the jerky part of them online isn't still part of their "personality."

I'm more chatty here than in real life. Being able to edit makes the difference.

I'm a very silly person, but I'm far more restrained in real life particularly around people I don't know all that well. I'm also serious about some things.

Instead of just complaining about chiropractors, I beat them up and steal their yacht money.
