The Simpsons loses the voice of Ned Flanders, Mr. Burns, and Principal Skinner as Harry Shearer quits | The Verge
Harry Shearer is not going to be voicing The Simpsons anymore, because of contract negotiation stuff, possibly HS not being allowed to do other work.
Sad.
His characters are going to be re-cast by "the finest voice over talent available".
The Simpsons will recast Mr. Burns, Ned Flanders, and other Harry Shearer characters | The Verge
Those voices include:
Otto, Mr Burns, Ned Flanders, Principal Skinner, Smithers, Kent Brockman, Dr Hibbert, Lenny, Jasper, Herman, Kang, Jebediah Springfield and lots more.

Apparently the entertainment industry is incredibly far-sighted when it comes to points on the back-end. They won't let principle cast anywhere near them.

The voice actors on the Simpsons have one of the sweetest gigs on the planet. They get paid very very well for a very small amount of work.
At this point, he probably doesn't need the money, so he can do what he wants, but I don't feel bad for him.
And who cares, the Simpsons hasn't been worth watching for about 15 years now.

I was thinking like more of a gag. The characters circulate naturally but one can die anytime during the episode.
