Whats wrong with this picture, and why is it doing this? Where is my login items? What do I delete to make it work again?


(hint, count the number of times 'accounts' shows up)

delete home/library/caches/com.apple.preferencepanes.cache

(c'mon...with that many posts surely you've seen this question/problem asked/answered at least a dozen times already....)

Thanks! I've been missing my "Accounts" preference pane and couldn't figure out HOW to get it back. Your tip fixed the problem.

Any chance someone can tell me how to delete an item from the system preferences pane?

I installed gpg, but then deleted it... however, it added a control panel in the system preference pane.

its either in
~/Library/PreferencePanes

/Library/PreferencePanes

or /System/Library/PreferencePanes

My hunch would be yes. I've never run into a problem like that when a theme wasn't used. Ah, the price one pays to make the mac feel more like home.

That's why I said it was a hunch. But in my experience, I've only had to suggest that people do this when they use themes. Anectdotal evidence but that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
