I just made the mistake of upgrading to VLC 1.1.5 and tried to play one of my European DVDs.

I made it to the menu, and whatever I clicked on, the screen goes dark, and then I'm back on my desktop.

What's going on here?

It can't be connected to the fact that I"m trying to watch a European DVD. It would decline to even display the menu. The app not exactly crashes - just doesn't work.

Short and quick solution: VLC went to the trash.

I"m using Apple's DVD player now. I switched the region, and it's much nicer to use than VLC.

You can only switch the region four times, but I'll leave it at 2 for my foreign DVDs. Honestly, watching DVDs on a computer monitor isn't that much fun anyway. Not that it's completely bad - but no comparison to watching a movie on the TV screen.

Upscaling 640x480 looks like crap on the computer? Weird.
