Has the phone been unlocked? If not, what network is it tied to?

not sure if the phone is unlocked however i do believe my friend tried his tmobile sim card in there when his phone died and was able to use it, no sure though as it was the first week i got the phone. If it is locked its branded to the at&t/cingular wireless company
