I finally passed the 25000 Milestone for SETI. I quit actively running the SETI client early last year, but I had installed a bunch of screen saver versions on friends computers over the previous couple of years and they must have left them in place all this time so it kept inching up. Yea, me!

What a waste of time!

Reliable friends are worth more than those points. Keep them. Well, the points too.

The points are worthless, especially since they were spent on SETI! My only consolation there is that they helped my team here at MacNN. The work we do now in folding, distributed folding, D2OL and the like have some real meaning. It is good to complete and work for something that might one day make a difference.

It is even better to have a good team to here to hang out with. Thanks Reader50 and Scott for making this a GREAT place to hang out. You guys do a GREAT job here, we need to voice that more. You guys keep up the good work!

The use of SETI might be questionable but they are the only DC project that works on non OS X mac computers.! RC-72 does not have a classic client any more.

Of the various OS X projects only fold@home seem to be running smoothly.
Ubero and Distributed folding is parked and Predictor is as I understand about to be restarted.

I have given up on D2OL when the client broke one time to many with a update of Java, OS, Client, Something

Well I am thinking about getting a PC for Half-Life 2 and such, then I will have more options for DC

Which is exactly why I ran SETi for so many years! I agree that folding is the most stable of the DC projects that I have been on yet, I never have problems with any of my machines running it. I even find some of the computers I installed it on a year ago that are still running the v3 client with no problems!
