i came accross this website that was offering a 3.8 pentium 4 with hyperthreading, and had a capibility to hold 8.4 gigs of ram...had a 2 megabite L3 cache, and some super fast hard drive system as wel as a bunch of other stuff..they had benchmarks against the g5 as well as the "regular" pentium four and it looks unrealistic..what do you think..?

1) That's an overclocked P4
2) While it can technically hold that much ram it can only use it through a funky slow thing called PAE, 'cause it's not 64 bit
3) Yes that machine would be faster than a G5 if it existed (by quite a bit, on most things, the P4EE is pretty quick), but it'll cost you $800-1000 per chip (hence the $7500+ price tag), and probably be less reliable 'cause of the overclocking
4) If you really want to see how much BS this thing is, check out the number of "optional" PCI slots they claim you can fit in a 70 pound machine...

www.go-l.com has been reported in the past to be some kind of scam, or hoax, etc. The fact that it spoofs Apple's web site and has over the top hardware should start ringing some alarm bells. Search the forums or Google for experiences with dealing with the company...
