Does anyone know how to activate dictionaries (if any available) to have spell checking in other languages?. I speak in Spanish, but my system is in English (primarily because I have grown with english-based mac oses). I use both languages a lot at work. I would like to be able to switch the spell checking feature. Is this possible?.
Thank you all.

What application(s) are you using? Usually spell-checkers run on a per-app basis, with one adding dictionaries (which are usually in a proprietary format) to the search path used by the app.
I know Microsoft Word has a Spanish dictionary (which was the subject of a bit of cultural controversy a while back). I can't remember if Eudora does; American English and British English are the only ones I'm sure I've seen.

C&G's SpellCatcher is due out in some 3 to 6 months for OS X and should work interactively in every application with multiple languages supported. Personally, I can't make the switch to OSX on a permanent basis until I have this "must have" application.

The spell checker built right into the OS is a very nice feature. Unfortunately, Apple only seems to have included a spelling dictionary for English. People who need spell checking for other languages should definitely provide that feedback to Apple. It would be awfully tacky of them not to provide spelling for the other languages that they "support".

Can this spell checker (what is its name?) be used from the
command line? (ie. many unix apps use ispell)
Thanks,
Mike
