I've been experiencing an unusually problem for the last few weeks: I have been unable to install the last couple of system updates due to the computer hanging while attempting to install them and reboot. I have an iMac running 10.7.2 and a few weeks ago when I was prompted to instal an update was when I first experienced the problem. Recently there was a new update for iTunes I believe, so I now have two updates pending.
Any idea what is causing this?

The two pending updates were iTunes 10.5.2 and Safari 5.1.2. I got the iTunes update to work by deselecting the Safari one, which is what is causing the computer to hang.

Wow, now I managed to get the Safari update to work to. Maybe the trick was doing in individually, or maybe the iTunes update had a cure for the Safari one, since that's the one that caused the problem originally I believe. Who knows!
