Ah, I get it. You are not a computer enthusiast. Seems like you'll never have the money for an OSX machine.

Uh... okay. My iMac has a 600mhz G3, which is alright, a ton of ram, and a huge hard drive, and it does everythign I ask of it. Why is it so funny? Modifying stuff is cool. Being a fatass who shows how tiny his d*ck is in any 'speaker' topic is not cool.

I don't run OSX.

But if I did.... can Quartz Extreme run on a rage PRO turbo? I know it wouldn't on a rage II...but what about a rage pro turbo? Like a rev D iMac?

I have access to a rev D motherboard, and I might solder the mezzanine connector onto the rev D mobo that way I'd ahve a better 2d card, and still have the gamewizard.

No, Quartz Extreme does not run on a rev D motherboard. It won't run on any graphics adapter that doesn't support OpenGL and 16Mb of vram.
If this post is in the Lounge forum, it is likely to be my own opinion, and not representative of the position of MacNN.com.

No, I'm using that Kensington Studio Mouse, the one with the little scroll touch pad in the middle. And an apple pro keyboard.

weird,

QE stuff

they say that QE needs an AGP card from the following families: NVIDIA GeForce2 MX, GeForce3, GeForce4 MX, or GeForce4 Ti or any AGP-based ATI RADEON GPU.

But it then states that it only needs 16MB of ram, but correct me if i am wrong, but isn't the lowest card on that list, GeForce2 MX, have 32MB? same with the Radeon?

So why would they state the 16mb? if the only cards have 32mb min?

Because at the time they released Jaguar the iBooks had only 16 MB vram. There was no way these could not be 'officially' supported.
