Great pics. The backlight on the mini is so much brighter than my 15GB.

I just got mine too. Awesome. Nicer than my 15 GB. Just ordered one for my daughter (pink). All I can say is it is small and a really nice size and the backlight is bright. I like all the buttons being around the wheel too.

Here's some pics to show size reference. Compared to a business card, and a Sanyo 5300. (Sorry that some of the pics are blurry...took them in a hurry)

No, just the opposite the color on outside of the box is the same color as on the one on the inside...nice job Apple. Here are some pics of a blue one from a guy that posted at iPodlounge.

Minty Fresh

Love the studio back drop in taking pics of the mini....lol man what freaks we are. You would never see anyone doing that with a PC product.

Oh yeah....Nice wallet

Oh yeah...thanks, I thought the black backdrop would add a little more contrast to the pictures! hehe And yes, we are some freaks...Apple products are the only thing I do this with! HAHA

Oh and thanks on the wallet...my GF bought it for me...I love it!

I'm so desperate! I just sold my o.g. 5gig for almost 250$, so now I have decided to buy an iPod mini. But I can't wait until april (availability date in Europe). Is there anyone coming to Switzerland in the next days or weeks who could bring me an iPod?

Which makes sense for quick retrieval of the proper one from a stock room and/or so customers can pick-up the right box.

I may have to saunter to my local AppleStore tonight; I'm curious to see one (though my 1G 10-gig is fine for me).

Just like its' big brother, the price objections will fade and the mini will be a hit. What an awesome device, it's so tiny! In probably 6-12 months the capacity will double, and then it's really party time. Still I can't blame early adopters at all, I may join the party soon myself.

Just got mine from my local apple store... instead of silver... I went for the GOLD!!

The color is a LOT less brown than the Apple product photography would suggest. It's very subtle, very nice.

Don't believe me?

Short Clip of my Gold iPod mini

I love it.

Nice!!! You're right...it's not as brown as the photoshop pics on Apple's site! I like it!

Yeah, just got me a blue one! I wanted a green originally but they ran out. Said they didn't have as many gold and green as the rest.

Blue is nice though. If you have more than 4GBs of music iTunes will create a playlist called "your iPod playlist" when you first plug it in and copy as much music as it can to it. I set mine to manual...

I'll post some pics later if I can.

They usually provide the songs and other extras as downloads at the end of the Strongbad E-Mail. Sometimes they're provided as hidden easter eggs, so you might need to click around.

Photos don't do the mini justice. I was on line waiting to buy a blue one but had an opportunity to see a green one on display. They had only 4 greens, but being 3rd on line I got one. Some people left when they couldn't get a green. It's a piece of art no doubt about it. I'll be taking it for its first long walk this afternoon.

No, I don't have any of the other ones. I just used Wire Tap to capture the sound from the easter egg at the end of the cartoon.

My mini was made in Taiwan. My 3gen iPod was made in China.
I think the quality is better from the Taiwan factory.
MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.7), 1.6 GHz, Core i5, 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3, 128 GB SSD, 24" LED ACD, 1TB Time Capsule (late 2009), IOS4 ATV, 16GB iPhone 4

Wow, the blue one looks very slick, all Best Buy had yesterday were the silver ones. I picked one up and love it, I'll probably give my 3G 15GB to my sister. Now if only the mini dock would ship from Apple!

Since you can swap the covers on the regular iPod dock to accomodate the larger 30/40GB models, I wonder if the mini dock is actually smaller or is just another cover swap job.

Nice! I never realized how tiny those things are. Now I think I want one. I will wait for the Rev B ones though! A nice green or blue one would work great...

The footprint of the mini dock is identical to the standard iPod dock and the mini does physically fit into the standard dock. However, it does not make a proper connection, does not charge and does not play out of the line-out port on the dock.

I tried this at the Apple Store before I bought my mini and then at home using the dock from my 10 gig 3 G iPod. No joy with either experiment :-( Looks like if I want a dock, I'll have to get a mini dock.

Has anyone found any protective cases specifically sized for the mini? I'm using an el-cheapo mp3 player case left over from my Rio days but would LOVE to get a case specifically designed for the mini. BTW, the mini without belt clip does fit pretty well front-to-back into the 3G ipod case but, of course, there is a lot of play around the sides.

This whole iPod mini is way too difficult to buy. First it takes forever to decide on a color for me...then I get to the next page and it has free engraving!!! Now I have to decide what to do there.
