man, these are some awesome icons. what programs do you guys use to create them?

I named my two hard drives "Lloyd" and "Harry", and I'm looking for some high quality dumb and dumber icons.. couldn't find though.

I'd like to make them if possible.. any tips would be appreciated!
I live my life one cool toy at a time.

still nice - keep going with them. You might need some labels at some point but look at real wine labels so you can see the subtlety that is used.

Nice folder, but the lighting seems inconsistent. On one hand you have the light hitting the uppermost right portion of the site. This should cast a shadow onto the inside of the folder. Also, you have the light coming from the bottom up which also conflicts with the light at the upper right. Try adjusting that gradient, perhaps?

You have $1200.00 plus in software but you don't know how to use them?

I'm assuming then, you're a student...right?
You wouldn't want to come on MacNN and boast how you stole software, as it would most likely get you banned.

To answer your initial question, if you're familiar with making graphics then you really just need to know the mechanics of an icon:

Check out: http://www.mikematas.com/ and scroll all the way down.
This is as good a reference as any.
Also check out Apple's developer section.

Can I make a request in here? If so, can someone please make an icon of sheet music?

You can see and example here and the icon would be perfect if it was just the sheet music and not the pointless tacky extras pasted over it.

I would appreciate it greatly if someone could either take out the play button and red oscillations or just make a new piece of sheet music (preferably with notes and angled in the same manner).

Fairly certain that this one may not matter to most, but in case theres anyone who cares...

Yep... there's plenty more where that came from.

To dislike Sinatra is a sign of highly questionable taste. To dislike the Beatles is a serious character flaw.

I've done some quick work (an hour or so) on these icons that I'm sure you will recognise, aswell as some of my own, I'd like you're opinions and also if possible permission to ditribute these icons, please have a look:

Interesting idea, but in my opinion it would look pretty cheap and tacky, but then again im not a fan of turquoise. I might let digital james have ago if he wants after I've got clearance from Demograph (although that looks like it could be a while, as I'm not geting any luck on talking to him) I've updated the cd's allready (these are completley my own)

new disks

LOL, I've been trying to get hold of you for a week, I would like to be given permission to give ouot this set to those who desire it and clearly the folders are as you know a mod of you're creation, may I be allowed to do this? (just thought I would point out that I mentioned in my first post of these that they where a mod of yours and I will of course fully credit you in the distribution notice)

p.s. what do you reckon to the mod and set?
