This all reminds me of the five-links theory. (Any person is connected to any other person on the planet with max five "links" between, in most cases fewer). This is the degrees of separation you are talking about. Three degrees of separation is actually quite normal in fact.

I met her (or seen her) once in the street one evening when she was out with friends. She was TINY (in capitals)! And it's even harder to understand what she is saying when she is not singing.

I can claim just 1 degree of separation. Nellee Hooper - who produced her album but used to live here in Bristol and hang out at and play pool at Special Ks with the Wild Bunch (now Massive Attack, Tricky and others). My big sister and my cousin were 'on the cool scene' and I used to tag along.

I am an Icelander, but unfortunately I don't know her personally. I do know a man with whom she spent a summer or two with (at a farm; I hear she was really hard working) ... we are almost 300.000, you can't know EVERYBODY.

But I do know we're related. Most of us are related in at least the 10th ... link.

oh well if we are talking about seeing her - i saw her sing in a concert with the brodski quartet in a very small venue here in bristol. she was about 10 ft away from me as I was right up front.
