How is it possible in Safari to block a website? I need to censor certain websites from my younger brother, namely hotmail.com. Is there any program or script or something that I could use to achieve this? Hopefully...

in the Terminal:
sudo ipfw add deny tcp from www.hotmail.com to any
you might want to add
sudo ipfw add deny tcp from login.passport.net to any
to be safe
This has to run on each reboot; do a search on StartupItems to see instructions on doing that.
If using the Terminal freaks you out you can accomplish the same thing with the ipfw wrapper BrickHouse

PithHelmet will do this ... extremely easy to circumvent, though since it's accessible through Safari's Prefs. LittleSnitch and Intego's Content Barrier will do so in a more sophisticated manner. Also, do a search for Shareware/Freeware Firewall apps on MacUpdate. Shouldn't be too tricky. If you access the Web through a (e.g., DSL-) router, you can set it to filter out packets directly at the router.

Isn't it a bit tight stopping your brother checking his email?

What the nerd community most often fail to realize is that all features aren't equal. A well implemented and well integrated feature in a convenient interface is worth way more than the same feature implemented crappy, or accessed through a annoying interface.
