I stupidly shipped my G5 with a CD inside. Now it is stuck. I can make the metal door go down manually but the cd slot won't eject. Any ideas on how to unstick this?

Remove drive from G5 (fairly easy, believe me).

Once free search for tiny hole on front bezel of drive.

Insert straightened paperclip or tiny allen wrench and push until drawer opens outward.

If disc is still jammed inside, remove top cover and extract.

First stop: the Manual that came with your G5 (you did notice that in the box right? )
OK, so you lost that, ate it, or otherwise disposed of it. Then head over here:

Thanks for the link. I actually didn't have the manual and even though I was searching google and the apple site, I wasn't coming up with the excellent pdf provided... My optical drive, I'm happy to note, is now fixed and back in place.
