Can someone please give him a warning to stop posting random bull in the forums? If he wants to contribute meaningful insight in to a topic, fine, but some stuff is just retarded. Examples:

[URL[http://forums.macnn.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=45&t=005001[/URL]

http://forums.macnn.com/cgi-bin/ulti...&f=45&t=004997

http://forums.macnn.com/cgi-bin/ulti...&f=45&t=005002

He has been here 20 days and has almost 500 posts. That is insane.

(Note: vmarks recommended we move this to suggestions/comments, so I am taking the liberty of doing so.)

Anyone else feel the same way I do?

I think you know my position on the "omac situation". If omac were a country and I had access to thermonuclear weapons ....... well figure it out.

I "tolerated" his posts until today when I saw his profile and registration date.

I wonder if there's any correlation here between omac, Ca$h and tooki. Probably just my "conspiracy theory/paranoid" mind at work.

I also hope that when he's banned that there's a "public service announcement" about it. I think this character deserves a little public humiliation.

Mike

Just curious, Since I'm I becoming an active participant in one of the computing forums -- what is forum horny?
If I ask a lot of questions or answer a lot of questions, that's cool-- but if I post a lot of stupid drivel that means nothing, just to get my post count up; then I'm forum horny. Correct?

Perhaps, given this, we should set up a "post-count trap". If you post more than 50 times in a single day, your post count goes down by 100.
You are in Soviet Russia. It is dark. Grue is likely to be eaten by YOU!

Why not just get rid of post counts, but leave the rankings/stars. Then, an extra star will be a nice surprise when it comes and there will be less incentive to spam the board to increase post count.

That's if you think these kids only post to increase their post count. As they are inevitably banned, this would be a foolish path to pursue. I think they just like 'having an effect'. I think the best thing is to ignore spammers. If you don't pay attention then they'll go away. However, to get that across to the equally dumb and supposedly more mature f**kers who kick up a massive fuss every time someone like omac turns up that the best tactic is to ignore them would beimpossible.

If you ignore spammers, they don't go away. We mature f**ckers have to say something to express concern, otherwise the spammer can go on his merry way.

I wasn't referring to you or anyone in particular - what I mean is that in the 20 days omac was spamming I didn't even notice it until everybody started complaining about it.

If you are here a lot like Cipher, myself, and others you notice. Every time I refreshed the Lounge, there was a new omac topic. It was insane.
