The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions, that I wish it always to be kept alive.

Spell checking is the only thing that keeps me away from really using any other browser other than Safari. Every time a new browser version is released, I check it out and if it doesn't have spell checking, it goes right to the trash.

Spell-checking is overrated in the extreme, and I wish people would stop using it as a crutch. There's a thing called proofreading.
That said, there's a big feature Camino's missing for me, too: Midas support. I'm not sure I understand why this is so, given that Midas is part of the Gecko engine; I'd think it would come along with the rest of the Gecko features "for free". Is it just a case of the relevant UI not being hooked up yet? Or is therre some other difficulty?

None - Just lack of interest I think. I think there is a bug open on the subject, but ain't usre if there is a bug for Midas please post the bug number here and I'll see If I can get interested in bringing Midas support into camino.

Don't take that as a promise, but Spell checking might make it in 0.9.

Proof... read... proofreading? What is that?

While I tend to agree with you there, I don't think proofreading does much for a dyslexic...

I use Firefox as my main browser, and yet I still have far fewer typos per post than most people here. If you ask me, the problem is just laziness.

Kinda ignorant to think that it's just laziness

I figured you'd come in here and flame me for that. Fine, I'll restate:
In most cases it appears to be laziness.
Yes, there are exceptions, such as non-native English speakers, and the deaf, but it seems like there are many more who are native, who aren't deaf, and yet who rely on spell checkers instead of applying their elementary school knowledge and just proofreading their damn posts.

Is the plan to use OS X's native text box or to use Mozilla's spell checking with the current text box implementation?

You call spell-check 'overrated in the extreme', yet list 'Midas support' as a 'big missing feature'?
I've never even heard of Midas.

It's in Preferences->Navigation->Tabbed Browsing->Load opened windows or tabs in the background.

I'm not flaming you, I'm just questioning your bold statement.
But I agree with you that in most cases, it's laziness. Superchicken being the best example

Maybe a grammar-checker or punctuation-checker would be more useful in your case?
Oh, and it's 'there', not 'therre.'

The "new style" tabs have been implemented as of the 9/3/04 nightly build for those who are interested....
