My god...... the next year never seemed so long. I can't WAIT for this one, Christopher Nolan is the best possible thing that could have happened to the Batman franchise. Christian Bale isn't so bad himself.

I'm going to be in Chicago in a few weeks. Hopefully I'll have time to find the filming locations that week.

I've never gotten over Memento. Great, great flick.

He's the best Batman thus far. I can't wait for this movie.

They've been here on and off the past 3 months. I haven't spotted anything really cool but they did some explosion and fire scene in the building adjacent to my mom's offices. They film a lot around my office but most of it is underground and in the middle of the night so there's no way I would catch any of it.
I know that Gordon's home is up in Wrigleyville because it was where they set it up for the last movie as well. So if you want to stake that out look for the trailers because they can't close off and chase people away as easily in the residential areas.

Incorrect! Frank Miller was the best possible thing that could have happened to the Batman franchise.

I'm a fan of Frank Miller, no question, but I can't imagine myself liking what he would do with Batman on film more then what Nolan has done. A big part of Batman is that he's just a 'regular guy' so to speak. For that reason I don't think an overly stylized version, like what I would image Miller doing, would be the best. It would for sure make for a damn entertaining time, though......

You didn't get what I said. A lot of what Nolan has been doing originates from Miller's work. Nolan isn't quite the original genius some make him out to be you know. His camera work and editing for action scenes is just plain bad.

Ah, I was thining in terms of actual film making, so you have a point. Three of the four Nolan films I've seen have been brilliant, though, so I think he has some credit coming to him. Either way.... looking forward to it!

Heath Ledger makes such a gay joker. Seeing this still instead of goin' "Hey it's the Joker" all I can think is "Hey, it's Heath Ledger, painted up to look like the Joker"...

I dunno, I think he looks pretty menacing in this shot:
Or maybe just a twisted version of The Crying Game?

You know... I'm a bit dissapointed they're already going straight for the 'joker' in the 2nd movie. I mean, yeah, it's batman's biggest enemy, but they could have done more with twoface, or some other character first. Also, I hope they don't cram in like 8 badguys like the 1990s batman movies. It really lacked character development, and was pretty boring.

I've always pictured the Joker as more gaunt and pointy faced. Ledger looks very round there.

Same here. But I do like the fact that they are treating his facial scars more like a horrific accident, and less like a silly face lift.

Yeah, but I didn't really like him as Bruce Wayne. He didn't do as well as I expected.

Who did you consider to be a better Bruce Wayne? Michael Keaton is the only other one to do at least a decent job. Kilmer and Clooney were horrendous.

Clooney was indeed horrendous all around. However, as bad as Kilmer was as Batman, I think he did a pretty good job as Wayne. He and Keaton were my favorites in that respect (with Keaton my favorite overall).

I agree with that. I thought Kilmer made a fine Bruce Wayne. He also looked a bit more like a playboy than Keaton did.

I liked Bale as both Batman and Bruce Wayne. I can't wait to see how he does in the next one.
I still can't decide, though, if I like his Batman voice. I think it was a little too nasal.

Anyone making headway on the whysoserious viral stuff? I'm guessing a good place to start is 1-800-395-9646. I haven't had the time to do anymore than listen to recording on the other end.
