Hi all,
I just picked up a new g5 - single - I know, I know, just around the bend from the new g5s, but I need it for a project... - and I'm noticing a kind of a low frequency oscillating humming sound emerging from the machine.
This is different from the 'chirping' noise.
thanks,
K

Do a search. It's probably the power supply fans.

Thanks,
I have done a search and found a lot about the 'chirping' but not a thing about the humming. I'll try again though.
It seems to be coming from around the HD, upper back, not from the fans, although the fans would be the first suspect. It seems to change speed, slightly...
