We can always hold out for a movie if they don't greenlight another season.

Excellent. After the season 4 close I'm confident they can keep the show evolving and interesting.

So the next big question is...
Is this movie thing going to be the finale?
I don't care if they end the show. Better to go out on top then pump out a bunch of crap seasons... my only fear is that the show will get cancelled without a proper ending. I want them to have at least a season of warning that it's coming to an end. And I would obviously prefer that they would get to dictate when the show ends.

It sounds like it's up to them to figure out when to do the movie.

I'd like to see the movie be 100% focused on Jonas Sr. and the original Team Venture. I love those guys.

They need to do a full 100% serious Rusty Venture cartoon episode.

6 Seasons is enough for me, this is excellent news.
Funny thing is I just checked his blog last night and sighed with the lack of any updates.

Did anyone watch the behind the music spoof last night? Funny, especially
the part at the end when Rusty figured out the truth behind Dermott's parentage

I thought the special was very blah. Simpsons did it! Simpsons did it!
I also read an interview where one of them said that after these next two seasons and the special that they were like 90% sure that the show was coming to an end unless they decide to completely abandon their plan or something.

Yeah, two more seasons and then a TV movie I think. The only thing wrong with that plan, given the current timeline, is that season 6 would premiere in 2053 or so...

Lame critique, ort, honestly speaking. "From the Ladle to the Grave" is in-universe, well written, with natural continuity with previous episodes and high quality, Venteresque humor. Behind the Laughter, in contrast, went for a lot of cheap gags and broke the "fourth wall" of the series with little pay off. Besides, The Simpsons doesn't have an exclusive right to spoof Behind the Music. I won't say the parody is completely original, but it's original to the Venture universe and well done. And you can't spend your life worrying about whether The Simpsons or South Park or any other show already used a comedic element that you (read as Jackson and Doc) may want to use yourself.

No, my biggest problem was that it just wasn't very funny, not that the Simspons had done it.

I haven't see it yet, but if that's true I blame it on Dylan sucking as a character.
