I'm interested in a MBP with a glossy screen. Can't find pic's on it with different light and angles. Can some one please post some pic’s? It will help me a lot!

I don't think many people have one yet. Best thing to do is look at pics of the MacBook.

I've heard that they are less glossy though. Is that true?

yes but is it totally awesome?
I was looking at the glossy screened ones in the Apple Store and it occured to me that photoediting could get annoying in certain lighting situations. Glare is not a good thing.
But otherwise the color and sharpness are quite nice.

When I work for an extended amount of time I'll make sure I'm in a comfortable environment where I can adjust my light sources to my tastes. Under those circumstances this screen truely shines. Even in the instances where I have no control over the lighting the screen fairs well - though I'll admit not as nice as the matte (which I don't dislike by any means, just for my work [photography] I like the glossy screen better).

I hope Apple offers the matte option later on for their entire lineup.

the glossy's look pretty, but from what I've heard it will saturate colors, which is good if your a media consumer, but if your producing anything its bad.
I unfortunityly have the matt screen coming in the mail cause I ordered a refurb.

OK, as promised I've taken some hi-res photos of the 17" MBP.
The first site listed was published with iWeb, I couldn't figure out how to publish the hi-res photos (if you know let me know), so I posted the files to my business site (let me know what you think, "Gallery" is still under dev. as is "Prints" [url sans the "/MBP17/"]).
I hope this helps, as I've said I'm very pleased with the glossy screen on the 17" MBP . . .
and I think the computer rocks too . . .

Thanks for the pics, but clearly a side by side with the matte is required.

How the hell is going to do that if he doesn't have a matte MacBook Pro to compare it to?

Yikes!
I was just saying that we need a comparison. Otherwise it's tough to tell what the exact differences are. When I look at those pictures I think they look alot like my matte screen, so I think we need a comparison.

I think you need to take some from the side or something to show the reflection of the light.

Thanks btollenaar for your effort! Yes it would be nice to see the screen with some reflection before making a decision.

No problem.
Download the hi-res files and check out the dark areas.
The "Screen Off" and "Wide Angle" shots with the screen off show the gloss of the finish.

Looks nice.
Is there anyone who has used a 17" matte that has a 17" glossy and can give their opinion?

Wanna hear something funny.
I went to the apple store last week and asked the sales guy if they had a mac pro with a glossy screen. He repiled "they dont make them with a glossy screen"

Nice. Btw, an Apple guy in the 5th Ave store said it's a mail order CTO option only...the stores only have units with the matte screen. Does the fact that the retail stores don't carry the glossy screen version say something about Apple's view on the gloss? I don't know, but it crossed my mind...

Hey All,
I received my 17 MBP Glossy a couple of days ago, and am so glad I did. I use a 15 MBP matte every day, and the higher reflection along with much richer colors, deeper blacks and brighter screen are well worth the tradoff. I haven't been in a situation yet where the glare was too destracting. I'll try to get some side by sides between the 17 gloss and the 15 matte and get them up this weekend.
Mike
