Photoshop EPS files with a clipping path are broken in 7B85, has anyboy else noticed this?

I Installed 7B85 using erase and install, then Installed PS 7.0.1 and FH MX 11.0.1 and Indesign 2.0.2.

Neither of the above can import Photoshop EPS files with a clipping path created in 7B85. Result: Program crash or a "blank" placed image.

Don't know if this is Adobe's or Apple's problem, but it's serious anyway...

Anyone else notice this in 7B85?

If you engage Expose quickly after choosing a different pane in System Preferences (for example), then highlight the System Preferences window, the "highlight" is the size of the old pane.

Too much time on your hands?

....by the way, this makes perfect sense if you ask me because the Expos highlight is going to be derived from the last current window state before you engage Expos...

The initial release of Mac OS X 10.3 is complete, and golden master.

The build is 7B85, which is what will be in the retail boxes.

I'm sorry that Apple hasn't knocked on your door with a f*cking fruit basket to inform you of this.

All media that can be unmounted has an eject symbol next to it. This goes for network volumes as well.

Says who? When Jaguar went gold there was a notice on Apples site. If b85 is indeed GM then Apple better prepare for a rough ride.

And there was no notice for Mac OS X 10.0 or 10.1.

Ahh, Deja vu: "If <4K78/5G64/6C115> is indeed GM then Apple better prepare for a rough ride..."

Help viewer is by far the most improved application in panther. It no longer takes 4 years to open.

Just to warn you guys, classic support seems to be somewhat messed up. Some of my classic games that worked in Jaguar no longer work in Panther, like Abuse.

It seems they have removed the Epson Stylus 2000P drivers that were included in Jaguar. Is it possible to just move the plugin from 10.2 to Panther, as its not on Epson's web-page either?

Good point. You probably win because ASP is infinitely more useful than Help Viewer.

I think Abuse is free or something now. There are also carbon/cocoa ports for the Abuse app now I think that uses your original data files. Don't ask me where, i just heard. Search google.

They have been moved to the 3rd disc under "EPSON Printer Drivers 2"

7b85 is the first Panther build I've tried. Does anyone know why there's no longer an option in the desktop's "Show View Options" (Command + J) that lets your hide icons for mounted drives, etc.
Looking forward.

Maybe you don't understand.

The mini window in Expose is a different size than the mouse-over highlight box. That's a bug.

Another thing I noticed is that the Finder doesn't seem to handle transparency in GIFs when they are used as background images for directories:

<the black should be white (as it was under Jaguar)>

Because you can disconnect a Firewire hard drive from your computer without switching the computer off, but first you have to "eject" it to prevent the finder from freaking out when you pull the cable out, just like an iPod.

I probably will now - transparent GIFs were accepted in 10.2 - and that's what I used to use (old Web habits.)

Just noting an inconsistent behaviour.

Is there an auto-pseudo-logout feature a la XP? ie. Is there a feature in Panther than automatically takes you to the login screen after a period of inactivity (leaving every program still running)?

This is one part of fast user switching in XP which I find very useful.

(Sorry if it's already mentioned in this thread, but I didn't want to sift through hundreds of messages.)
