Adobe issued an emergency update to Flash late on Thursday, and is urging all users across every platform to update to the latest version. A bug introduced in the previous version was enabling "drive-by" attacks on Windows PCs (and possibly other platforms) with no other action than visiting a website with an malware-laden ad.

It's called Flash because that's how quickly Adobe has to update it to stay secure.

I finally gave up and uninstalled Flash a month ago. It got too annoying, even set to auto-update. Which didn't work, just produced multiple dialogs per week to install updates. Enough already.
